Paintless Dent Repair Process on A 2012 Buick Verano
Hassle-Free Dent Repair
A dent on your car is always an ugly site. It makes other road users view you as a reckless driver even when that’s not the case for like 90% of the time. This is why you need to get it repaired as soon as possible and there is no better way to do it than with extreme paintless dent repair. This is the most convenient and easiest way to repair your car’s dent without having to visit a body shop or filing an insurance claim. Here is how you do it on a 2012 Buick Verano carrying a dent on the rear section just above the bumper, as explained by Sioux Falls Dent Repair’s lead PDR technician Jack Bucknell.
Assess the Damage
The first thing the PDR certified technician will have to do before anything is to assess the extent of the damage. This will help determine a few things; one, how deep does the dent go, secondly, if PDR is possible. In this case, the kind of dents that cannot be fixed using PDR include deep dents, dents near edges, and dents that have creases. The last reason for assessing the damage is to determine what approach would yield the best results.
Gain Access
After assessing the extent of damage, the PDR certified technician will have to make sure they have unrestricted access to the damaged area. Most of the time they will need access through the backside of the dent and for this case, they will have to pop the trunk lid open and remove some of the interior as well as the tail light to reach the dented area. They will also have to lower the bumper for a cleaner, smoother job and ensure the use of appropriate tools for this process to prevent any damage to the screws and clips that might make it hard to return them.
Get A Heat Gun
Direct heat of around a hundred and sixty degrees towards the area you intend to fix. The heat is intended to soften the surface and make it malleable so that returning it to its original position can be easy. In addition to that, it prevents any damage to the surface as a PDR certified technician tries to manipulate it.
Perform the Repair
The PDR technician position tools on the dent’s backside and can apply a special glue on the front of the damaged area to ensure equal pressure is applied to the front and behind the area. With the heat ray’s help, slowly manipulate the dent’s outer edge until it bends back level with the surface. After slow and methodical work around the dent’s outer edge, the dent’s size will gradually shrink until it completely disappears.
Piece It Back Together
Once the PDR certified technician have finished the dent repair and are satisfied with the outcome, they can start returning everything to where it was from restoring the bumper and tail lights then return the interior panels
