My First Experience at the IASRE Dent Repair Trade Show in Japan! Embarking on my first trip to Japan for the IASRE Dent Repair Show was a dream come true. This event was not just a showcase of skills but a platform for my very first competition in a single-person, Olympics-style format where I had to fix a dent under time constraints. During the competition, I had the opportunity to work with some fantastic tools. Here I use several brands that are well-respected in the paintless dent repair (PDR) community, including Dent Reaper, Anson, A1, Keco, and Dent Vision. Each tool has its unique features that cater the dent removal process. In my video, I shared various tips and tricks that I picked up along the way. From identifying the right tool for each specific dent types to mastering techniques that can save precious seconds, the insights I discussed are invaluable for anyone looking to enhance their PDR skills. Overall, participating in this competition not only challenged me but also deepened my appreciation for the craft. I left Japan inspired and eager to continue honing my skills in dent repair and I cannot wait to attend the next event in 2026!
New Tools!!! There is nothing better for a PDR technician than to receive a package with new tools, especially if it is unexpected. Today, we got a surprise from A-1 Tools; if you know anything about us, we use many A-1 Tools equipment. They make premium tools and often collaborate with companies like Dent Reaper and Anson PDR Tools to release newer, better options.
We got a couple of Dent Reaper hub tools inside the package from A-1 called the Super Scythe and the Arch Angel. We got a sharp and dull version so that we can tackle all kinds of dents with ease. The tools are made from high-quality stainless steel, which makes them extremely strong and durable. These tools are designed for door ding repairs but can be used for practically any kind of dent with limited access.
To use these tools, you will need to have something like the Guerrilla Grip Tactical Handle to give you all the leverage and power that you need to get out all kinds of dents. As you can see, there is a blunt tip tool, which is primarily used for pushing out larger damage while the sharper tip can be used for detailing and getting out smaller dents. Both the tools are tapered so that they can easily fit into tight areas but they do not compromise on strength. When it comes to PDR tools, A-1 Tools is one of the best names in the business, and with their extensive collection, there is not a tool or a brand that you will not find on their website. They are all about quality and deliver on that – no matter what you purchase.

Dent warranties are more often than not sold through car dealerships, either as their own in-house additions, or through third party companies. Usually what happens is that dealerships will add the dent warranty cost into the car loan which makes it look very feasible, but ultimately, it can add up to thousands of dollars in the long run.

Dent warranties are more often than not sold through car dealerships, either as their own in-house additions, or through third party companies. Usually what happens is that dealerships will add the dent warranty cost into the car loan which makes it look very feasible, but ultimately, it can add up to thousands of dollars in the long run.
This is why car owners need to read the fine print in their contracts because they can easily be tricked into paying for the warranty and end up not getting the benefits they imagined would come along with a dent warranty.
For example, the warranty company that reached out to us claims that any damage larger than three inches – which you can imagine is not all that big – needs to first be approved by the company before any repair takes place. Damage larger than four inches is denied by the company. The company also denies warranty for any kind of paint damage including scratching, scuffing, and chipping – no matter the size of the dent. Deep damage and sharp creases, which are also completely denied by the dent warranty company, are viewed very differently by the customer, the warranty company, and by us – the dent repair company. One of the most common places we fix dents on is a car’s body line, however, the dent warranty company denies any payment if a dent is on the body line of a car. Any type of R&I (Remove and Install) is denied by the warranty company and most of these warranty companies deny repairs on hoods, roofs, and trunk lids – some of the most easy to hit areas of a car.
