Paintless dent repair, or PDR, is a popular technique used to remove dents from the body of a vehicle without the need for costly and time-consuming traditional methods such as sanding, filling, and repainting. The process involves using specialized tools to gently massage and reshape the damaged area from the inside, restoring the panel to its original shape without damaging the paint.
But is paintless dent repair good? The answer is a resounding yes! Here are a few reasons why.
Cost-effective
One of the biggest advantages of PDR is that it is a cost-effective way to remove dents from your vehicle. Traditional dent repair methods can be expensive, especially if you have to pay for painting and refinishing. PDR, on the other hand, is much more affordable, and in many cases, the cost is less than traditional methods.
Preserves the original finish
Another major advantage of PDR is that it preserves the original finish of your vehicle. Because there is no sanding, filling, or painting involved, there is no risk of damaging the existing paint. This is particularly important for those with newer or high-end vehicles, as any damage to the finish can significantly reduce the value of the car.
Quick and convenient
PDR is a relatively quick and convenient process. In most cases, it only takes a few hours to complete, which means you can have your car back on the road in no time. Additionally, because there is no need for painting or refinishing, there is no need to wait for the paint to dry, which can take several days with traditional repair methods.
Environmentally friendly
Finally, PDR is an environmentally friendly option for dent repair. Traditional repair methods often involve the use of harsh chemicals and solvents that can be harmful to the environment. With PDR, there are no toxic materials used, which means it is a much more sustainable and eco-friendly option.
In conclusion, paintless dent repair is a highly effective and affordable way to repair dents on your vehicle. With its cost-effectiveness, preservation of the original finish, quick and convenient process, and eco-friendliness, PDR is a no-brainer for anyone looking to repair dents on their car.
This is a very common question, first off it depends on many factors when calculating a dent repair price. We run everything through a software system called Mobile Tech Rx. This software was designed quite a few years ago now and tailored specifically to the paintless dent repair industry. This software has all of our pricing programed into it. We simply scan the vehicles vin number to auto populate the vehicles info. From there we enter some additional information on the vehicle including mileage and plate number.
The Process
We will ALWAYS inspect your damage using a paintless dent repair light. This is the most crucial step of the entire estimating process, being able to properly see the damage. Then we measure the overall diameter of the damage, then the depth of the dent, which we do have a dent depth gauge that we can use. From there we then assess any factors such as body line dents, the metal the panel is made up of and so on. Then we figure out what we need to take apart, if anything, to remove the damaged area. From there the system comes up with a number and we come up with a price for a paintless dent repair.

Have a dent or ding you would like a Free No Obligations Estimate On?
We are going look at this door ding dent and do a pricing breakdown for you today. This vehicle is a 2017 Chrysler 300s. This vehicle has a door ding in the right rear door and was a referral from Superior Detail, a local detailing shop. We start off by showing you how we gain access to this damage. From there we then show how we go about pricing this damage in this door for paintless dent repair.
We first setup our Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) light system so we can see a proper reflection of the damage. From there we then use our price guide that has a built in ruler to measure the damage. From there we have a base line to start the estimate.
Depth of the Dent
We then do a visual inspection of the depth of the dent. We even have a dent depth gauge that we can measure the depth in millimeters. It may not sound like a lot but a dent that is a over .25mm deep is medium depth.
Shallow Depth< .25mm
Medium Depth: .26 – .75mm
Deep Depth: : >.76mm
Apply Factors
There are many factors in a dent repair for pricing:
Metal makeup: steel, aluminum, high strength steel, ultra high strength steel
Glue Pulling: Do we need to glue pull this area because there is no access to the backside
Obstructed damage: is there a brace or internal structure in the way of the dent that we need to work around
Body line or contour line dent: this damage is much more harder to remove
Crease dents: some creases are so sharp that they cannot be removed 100% but a significant improvement can be made, this is all determined at the estimate time prior to repair.
Edge of panel: these areas are often very tight and require specialized edge tools to repair.
Special paint finish: this includes clear film, viynal wraps, stickers or decals. These items effect the sight of the repair and can make it more difficult.
Sound Deadener: these types of sound deadener pads, glues or compounds vary from manufacture so each repair method is different.
These are just some of the major factors in pricing out paintless dent repair.
