Body Line Dent Removal – 2019 Ram 1500 Warlock

Body Line Dent Removal – 2019 Ram 1500 Warlock

Body Line Dent Removal

Here we use paintless dent removal to remove this deep body line dent in 2019 Ram 1500 Warlock right side fender. All of this damage was removed using the paintless dent repair method. With this method of repair we us specialized tools to slowly push the damage out. We started this repair off by using a tool called a Dent Dial, the model number was the 35L. We attached a soft rubber ball style tip to the end of this tool to start the first pushes. From there we switched to an interchangeable tip tool from ultra dent tools. On this tool we went with a slightly smaller tip called a R4 which indicates the size then added a red cherry cap to it to soften the pushes. From there we progressively move to a smaller and sharper tip to do the final detail work on this dent.

It’s Hot In Here!

In this repair, because of the extreme depth, we had to use heat. So what we do is setup a heat gun to constantly apply anywhere from 160-180 degrees to this damage area the entire time we are pushing this dent out. If we do not go about doing this you run the risk of the paint being damage from the extreme pushes needed to push this damage out. Heat is the number one key in this repair. Without it the paint would almost certainly be damaged with the extreme pushes we had to make to get this damaged area back out.

Glue Pull Dent Removal

Glue Pull Dent Removal

Glue Pull Dent Removal

Today we are going to be discussing using the glue pull method when performing paintless dent removal. This vehicle we are showing you here today is a Chevy Impala and it has some damage in the roof panel of the vehicle right above the drivers seat. This damage was cause when the customer was taking something down from their garage and it accidentally fell on the roof of this Impala.

Repair Method Choices

Now often times we want to gain access to the back side of the damaged area and push the area out with tools. This would have been a perfectly acceptable way to make this repair. After reviewing the damage with the customer we found that it would be more cost effective for us to remove this damage using glue pulling and pull the damage up verses lowering the entire headliner assembly and pushing the damage out. Now this is not always the case but this repair style worked great for this repair.

To Glue Pull Or Not To Glue Pull

One of the biggest factors that come into play when deciding the repair method is the excising paint finish. If this roof had been repainted before and not had its factory paint finish on it we would do everything we can to NOT glue pull on this area. Why? Because we would run the risk of actually pulling the non factory paint finish off of the car leaving a spot with paint missing and pulled off of the car. This is why it is so important to choose paintless dent repair verses going to a body shop and having your vehicle repainted. The factory paint finish is the best paint finish that you can get on your vehicle, will last the longest and has the strongest bond to the panel.

Big Dent Removal Techniques – Dodge Challenger Scat Pack

Big Dent Removal Techniques – Dodge Challenger Scat Pack

Big Dent Removal Techniques

Back again for another paintless dent repair and here we are going to show you some of our big dent removal techniques on this Dodge Challenger Scat Pack edition. This vehicle was brought to us with some tree limb damage. Yes that is right, a tree company was unfortunately cutting down some tree branches above this car and during the process they fell all over this vehicle. This caused damage all over including the hood, fender, roof, roof rails, trunk lid but today we are focusing on just the quarter panel damage.

What Tools Did We Use?

We started off these repairs by gaining access to the backside by removing the interior trim panels in the trunk. From there we remove the tail light and work through the wiring access hole for the tail light. The first tool we used was actually an Ultra Dent Tools double bend tool with an interchangeable tip and extension. We start off a repair like this with a bigger ball style tip. From there we slowly downsize the tip size to get more precision pushes. Towards the end of the repair the damage actually started to slightly oil can, shown in the video. The panel is very flimsy and movable with just minor pushes with our fingers. We knew we had to tighten the metal up so we started by using some electronic tools.

Electronic Dent Removal?

In this repair towards the end of the repair like stated prior we had to resort to using some electronic style tools for this repair. What we are using is the steel hotbox machine from Betatag. This tool uses electromagnetic heat induction to heat up the panel. We heat up the panel with this tool to a safe temperature that will NOT damage the paint finish. From there we then spray the area with a cold spray. This method of quickly heating the metal and quickly cooling the panel is nothing new to metal workers. What this does is tighten up the molecules in the metal making it shrink. This shrinking action tightens up the metal so it does not remain flexible after the finished repair. Say for instance we DID NOT do this, the panel make at some time be pushed in from say someone leaning on the vehicle or a high pressure car wash for instance. More than likely with this minor stretched metal it will not stick inwords looking like a dent but it could happen so we must take special precautions to prevent this.

Finishing it up

In the end we were able to remove not only this damage but damage all over the vehicle from the tree limbs. We use only the paintless dent repair method for our repairs and no painting, body fillers or primers were used in these repairs. Hail Damage Estimating

Have Hail Damage?

Today Jack Bucknell our ARC Master Hail Certified technician at Sioux Falls Dent Repair will be discussing hail damage estimating. This was a Facebook Live video for hail damage estimating. We are a professional auto hail damage repair company located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We have recently had a ton of hail damage repair claims from around the area including the other side of the state in the Black Hills, Rapid City and Spearfish. We wanted to take a moment and discuss how we go about processing all of the damage for repairs.

Should I submit my own photos and videos to my insurance?

No, while your insurance company will need photo documentation in order to process your claim. It is extremely important for you to have your vehicle looked at by a professional with professional lighting in the right conditions. A professional with these conditions will be able to write a much more accurate assessment of your vehicles damage.

How Do Electronic Heat Induction Tools Help Remove Hail Dents?

How Do Electronic Heat Induction Tools Help Remove Hail Dents?

Hail dents can cause a real amount of damage to a vehicle, and be very annoying to look at, and can even drive the price of your car down by hundreds of dollars, for a good reason: they can be hard to get out. Many times the process of getting dents out can even make the spot look worse, as it leads to mismatched paint jobs and a more noticeable amount of damage. Luckily, Sioux Falls Dent Repair uses a number of methods in order to save your car’s value and its appearance. Sioux Falls Dent repair can repair your dents in a couple of manners, some of which include:

  • Electronic Heat Induction Tools

  • Push and Pull Methods

Sioux Falls Dent Repair is the premier paintless dent repair specialist in the Sioux Falls region and the entire surrounding area. We can remove dents of all sizes, including hail damage dents in your vehicle, all without resorting to using any painting or bondo, as more traditional body shops are keen on doing. We utilize special tools in order to push and pull damaged metal out. This includes metals such as steel, high strength steel, and aluminum.

By using our paintless dent repair services, you are enabling your vehicle to retain the superior paint job it received in the factory, and as a result, there will be no color mismatch or peeling paint. Additionally, you won’t have any negative CarFax history report, and there will be no way of detecting that there was ever any damage to your vehicle. Most amazingly, however, is that it only takes a few hours, and you won’t have to leave your car at a body shop for a couple of days.

Electronic Heat Induction Tools

Electronic heat induction tools are typically handheld units that are aimed at making the removal of hail dents and small door dings easier and safer for the vehicle. The tools are designed to be very quick and easy to use, making them highly efficient for body shops, dent repair shops, and even laymen. The appliance generally comes with a number of settings that can be appropriately adjusted depending on the application of it.

It is specifically designed for paintless dent repairs, and it allows paintless dent repair technicians to remove small soft dents by lifting the small soft dent through the magnetic heat induction. “Small soft dents” are dents that don’t leave sharp impressions and don’t have creases. Ideally, these dents come out perfectly within one minute, while others may take a couple of minutes when used in tandem with other paintless dent removal techniques.

Some of these other techniques include glue pulling techniques and the use of traditional paintless dent repair tools. Electronic heat induction tools save time and money for both the technician and the vehicle’s owner, and it always creates a large return on the investment into paintless dent repair, for the owner and technician alike.
